Coffee Lower Cancer Risk Endometrium

Coffee is now included in the list of drinks that bring positive benefits to health. Several studies, although small berskla, mention of coffee may reduce the risk of cancer. In a recent research mentioned coffee consumption may protect women from cancer of the endometrium (lining of the uterus).

These findings included more than 67,000 volunteers. The researchers found that women who drank more than four cups of coffee a day over a period of 26 years had a 25 percent lower risk of getting cancer. Whereas in women who drank 2-3 cups of coffee a day, has a 7 percent lower risk of developing endometrial cancer.

"These findings are too premature to make a recommendation that women coffee drinkers have a lower risk of endometrial cancer," said Dr. Edward Giovannucci, professor of nutrition and epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health.

Giovannuci say that coffee contains more antioxidants than fruits and vegetables. However, he revealed that these findings are only looking at the relationship between coffee and reduced risk of endometrial cancer. Not to prove that coffee as a cancer preventive.

The findings are published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention. Giovannuci claimed that this finding is not the only one that reveals about the health benefits of coffee.

He adds, coffee have also been proven to protect against diabetes. Meanwhile, according to other researchers from Harvard, Dr. Rob van Dam, coffee has been associated with decreased risk of depression in women as well as various other benefits.
